Difference Between Sales And Marketing
Some people can’t tell the difference between sales and marketing.
I have worked as a salesman a few years back selling everything under the sun - from soap powder to bank loans and from guitars to online advertising pixels. Let me tell you this: being a salesman is a nightmare!
Believe it or not: Most salesmen know NOTHING about marketing a product. Especially reps from the network marketing circles. People who claim to work in ’sales and marketing’ are nothing more than professional peddlers or 3-piece suit beggars. They claim that they are in network marketing, yet the irony is that less than 90% know how to REALLY market!

A successful marketing campaign will ensure that you don’t have to run around like a salesman. You won’t need to chase down customers like a rabid dog.
Good marketing, really good marketing is all about bringing the customer to YOU and not to hunt them down.
Gone are the days of:
- Cold calling customers who aren’t too happy about you calling them in the first place
- Avoiding the word MLM or Network Marketing when pitching your MLM program
- Driving for miles, only to get stood up by your prospects
- Spending a fortune on classified advertising when you can spend that money advertising online (or get it for free)
Perry Marshall’s e-course on the 9 lies of sales and marketing is excellent. If you are in sales, be prepared for a paradigm shift.
