Gone Are My Bachelor Days

Well, my bachelor days has come to and end. 07/07/07 was the day I registered with the government as husband and wife. (the actual wedding day is on the 24th of November 2007)

Main Wedding Registration Photo

This is a picture of me and my dear wife - Yuenn. The words behind us in Chinese signify marriage or wedding.

A small history about my love life:

We met February (or was it January?) 2005 at a piano convention. At that time, I was working as a sales executive selling digital pianos and music courses (totally unrelated to what I’m doing now… I know) in a music school.

Yuenn was working as a piano teacher at the same music school and that was how our fates intertwined.

Although we had no attraction towards each other, it was my friend and colleague, Irene who ‘encouraged’ me to pursue Yuenn. I was single at that time (and a lot thinner), so I thought - maybe I can try ‘for fun’.

It is strange how a meaningless and innocent thought (at that time) would change my destiny forever.

So my friend Irene started ‘match-making’ and started engineering favorable circumstances to hook us up.

Yuenn is from Johor Bahru - a city in a state far south from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia’s Capital City). She used to travel to the main bus station in Kuala Lumpur and take a taxi to Stephanie’s house (another friend and colleague - the woman who introduced us to each other).
Pudu Bus Station

This is a picture of Pudu bus station in KL.

Therefore, I started collecting information - her work schedule, her bus arrival, when she is at Stephanie’s house, when her piano lessons begin and a whole lot of information obtained through data mining.

As Stephanie’s house is quite a distance from my house, I had to plan my move carefully. I even scheduled my piano lessons with Stephanie to coincide with Yuenn’s schedule.

(I am not a big fan of piano lessons - but you have to go to great lengths to accomplish your mission - do whatever it takes)

One of my key strategies was to arrange for her transportation to Pudu bus station as though it seemed like I was passing it ‘along the way’. But to tell you the truth, Pudu bus station is located 45 minutes from Stephanie’s house (and mine as well) so it was actually a very long drive (not to mention the heavy traffic).

Of course, Yuenn didn’t suspect a thing until it seemed that every time she comes to KL, it is such a ‘coincidence’ that I am there all the time. (Eventually I blew my cover…)

The rest, as they say is HISTORY…

First Candle Light Dinner

This restaurant is called ‘The Ship’. It was where we had our first candle light dinner.

Here are some photos from my wedding registration day:

Sign, sign, sign, sign… Muahahahahaha! You have fallen into my trap. No escape for you now!!!

money?

Wedding registra: “Okay, Bub… where’s my money”

Khai: “……” (costs me RM120/$35)

Sigh… even signing a piece paper costs money.

It was a great evening!

So… who’s next?

In europe airline tickets discount is rare and people who travel prefer car rental to the cheap flights and book hotels beforehand.
