Heading Off To WIS In Singapore

This is it! The World Internet Summit is about to begin! In exactly one month’s time I will be heading off to one of the biggest Internet conferences around the continent!

Though I’ve learnt a lot from my Internet marketing friends in the past few months, I know that this trip to Singapore will take my exposure to the next level.

I remember that my very first contact with Internet marketing was barely half a year ago. I wanted to attend the WIS in Kuala Lumpur. My brother Khailee who works in Mind Valley, was given a free ticket to attend the mega summit.

He ‘invited’ me to attend this follow up session by Fabian Lim (whom I had the pleasure to meeting in person a month ago)

At that time we were asked to sit in a large circle and discuss what are the major problems faced when starting your Internet business for the first time. My girlfriend and I were sitting there stumped, unsure what to say as we were swamped by the whole thing.

I kept on hearing complaints about how to start a Paypal account in Malaysia. People kept on discussing about it until Fabian had to interrupt them and get them to stick to the important issues.

So much for a first impression on Internet marketing.

Incidentally, that very same hall used by Fabian is the same hall where I attended OPP (opportunity meetings) by Amway groups years ago.

Today, I look back hopefully wiser than I first begun. I have great teachers and I owe my accomplishments to their patient mentoring.

But the best thing about Internet marketing is the fact that I have met many business-minded people, and these are the people that I can name as my friends.

And some of these friends, are riding with me to Singapore on May 25th. Edmund, Gobala, Vince and Melvin… get ready for a ROAD TRIP!

I heard that Ladan Lashkari will be attending the WIS as well. I can’t wait to meet her. Her Internet marketing success story is truly inspiring. Her success is relatively phenomenal considering that she’s from IRAN and it is very hard to open a paypal account, earn US checks and a whole multitude of other problems (and people in Malaysia are whining about not starting an Internet business because they ‘can’t‘ open a paypal account)

To those who are still sitting on the fence whether Internet marketing is ‘your cup of tea’ or not, why don’t you grab a ticket and meet us there! This conference is going to be a blast. You might actually look back at this and thank your lucky stars that you have made the decision.
