Highlights of 2011

I will never forget 2011. It is a year that I’ve accomplished easily three times what I would’ve normally accomplished given any other year in the past.

This blog post will be my final post for 2011 and I hope it will inspire you to push yourself beyond what you ‘think’ you can accomplish in 2012 because we can always do more and create more!

Career breakthrough

In 2011, I’ve created more big launches than most Internet marketers (even gurus) would ever accomplish. Most of them are carried out through Inspiration DNA – currently the No.1 PLR brand in the personal development market.

Here is a timeline of the biggest launches I’ve done over 2011:

September – No Limits Videos (collection of PLR videos with no restriction PLR)
October – Traffic Triple Threat (huge collection of traffic PLR)
November – PLR Encyclopedia (largest collection of original PLR shipped via USD hard drives)
December – PLR Franchising (selling off my Inspiration DNA business to 5 partners)

Selling Inspiration DNA was the best way to end the year of 2011.

Financial breakthrough

This marks the crossing of the million dollar mark with ONE SINGLE BRAND. While I do believe in multiple streams of income and I am doing quite well with them, doing ONE really, really well is something I am truly proud of.

Besides buying a new piece of property, the best part is I only spent on average of 2-3 hours a day working in front of the computer (and I don’t work every single day). I didn’t want a life with no style and definitely do not want style without life. I wanted a LIFESTYLE so working smart and leveraging on others is a big breakthrough as well. As the gurus say – work ON your business rather than IN your business. It is a huge difference!

My next goal is to generate another one to two million dollars through another brand in the private label rights industry and expand massively by replicating my success in Inspiration DNA into other markets like personal development and network marketing. And I want to do it all while still enjoying my life!

Health and fitness breakthrough

According to T.Harv Eker, the root of the tree determines the fruit.

For me, staying healthy and losing weight wasn’t the only thing I wanted to accomplish – I wanted to live and maintain a healthy LIFESTYLE. It’s no point having all the money in the world if you do not have the health to enjoy it!

Therefore, focusing on the fruit or result of losing weight wasn’t enough for me. Since February, I created for myself a lifestyle overhaul which meant changing my diet and going to the gym regularly.

At first it was really difficult, but after 2 months, I started going to the gym 5 times a week!

I was very happy to have developed this habit of going to the gym consistently because having the habit (the root) was more important than having the fruit (just the result of losing weight).

Thousands of books have been written on weight loss and fitness but if there’s one thing I can share with you that will change your fitness destiny is this:

JUST HAVE FUN!

How did I accomplish this?

I started attending gym classes like Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Attack (high impact aerobics), RPM (high intensity cardio cycling), Body Balance (Mixed Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi and stretching exercises) and kickboxing classes with a personal trainer.

Once I started enjoying the classes, going to the gym no longer becomes a question of, “Should I go?” it became a habit of “I WANT to go!”

Missing a day at the gym is like torture to me now and I even find myself exercising during vacations and in hotel rooms (or hotel gyms).

My health is better than ever and my energy has skyrocketed!

Recreation breakthrough

As I shared above, lifestyle is very important. Having money without the time to enjoy it is also an unhealthy lifestyle.

Therefore, I was quite happy to be able to enjoy the time freedom as a result of working effectively.

Going to the gym 5 times a week is also a form of recreation for me as I enjoyed every moment of it.

I was able to learn to play my electric guitar more.

I enjoyed going for karaoke during working hours where the rates are super good. (Yes, singing is one of my passions).

I tried horse riding and flying a plane.

I also enjoyed playing my favorite computer games and board games with my friends without worrying about tomorrow.

And most important of all, I woke up anytime I want and slept anytime I want. Living each day felt fun and exciting!

Family breakthrough

As many of you already know, I was a college dropout and I couldn’t hold a job for more than 10 months (yes, 10 months was my longest and I had a dozen jobs).

As a result, I was a great source of heartache for my hardworking parents and a bad role model to my two younger brothers.

But because of my Internet marketing business, I was able grow from being a black sheep to change my destiny.

My biggest breakthrough was when my dad acknowledged my accomplishments.

He is a hardworking man who worked long hours all his life. He believed (at that time) that the only way to succeed was to study hard, get into the best schools, get good grades, get a stable job and work till you are 65.

His mindset is pretty ‘old school’ but when he saw my online account and he acknowledged me in his own language or his own words, “Wow son, you are making more money than a senior bank manager!”

(Actually, I’m making more money than a few senior bank managers in a year… but I understood what he meant!)

But not only were my mom and dad convinced that I’m on the ‘right path’, even my youngest brother Khai Yong started learning Internet marketing from me and is doing quite well himself!

He has also contributed a great deal to all the products I’ve created over the past year and has gone on to launch his very own product too.

It’s the everyday spending time with them that makes me love life.

My wife doesn’t have to work. She teaches piano because she likes to, not because she has to. I get to spend all this time together with my wife each and every day.

Having lunch with my mother is a good weekly activity. We even go for Body Combat every now and then.

My brothers, parents, wife and I also have family reunions every 1-2 weeks and it’s great to be able to share what you enjoy with your loved ones.

Friendship breakthrough

I always believed in the ‘sum of 5’ rule which means that you are the collective outcome of the 5 people you spend most of your time with.

That is why I pick and choose very carefully who I hang out with because their influence on you will determine your future and your destiny. You don’t want to let people who think small influence you in any way. It’s pitiful to lose your dream because of a few naysayers. Most of the time, people can’t even take care of their own lives and they try and tell you how you should live yours. Pay no attention to it and live true to your life, passions and calling. You owe it to yourself.

Internet marketing and personal development are not only fantastic industries to be in, it has also given me the opportunity to become friends with some of the best in the industry.

I’ve met marketers, trainers, speakers and coaches that give me a constant source of inspiration every day. It is one thing to be inspired by celebrities, it is even better to know these people and call them your friends as the effect is much greater.

Spiritual breakthrough

This year, I’m more active serving in church.

One of the most important aspects of my life is my church life and I will always structure my schedule and priorities around it.

God has blessed me abundantly in every area of my life. Therefore, it is very important for me to give back as much as I can to the Christian community!

In a nutshell, I’ve learned a huge difference between going to ‘a church’ or going to ‘the church’… I’m going to MY church and this fact alone changes everything.

Whatever happens, I will make it my priority to maintain a close relationship with Him.

Personal breakthrough

Last but not least, I’ve learned about a powerful tool called the Enneagram (a powerful personality typing tool) and it too has transformed my relationship with myself, my loved ones, my business partners and my church community.

Throughout the year, I’ve attended many public speaking, self-discovery, inner peace and leadership seminars that have helped me to grow.

For 2012, I’m beginning the year as a teacher and a coach to help people to discover their true calling, unlock their passions and help them to live a better life. All this wouldn’t be possible if I do not learn it and experience it thoroughly in my own life. Life is not a theory – it must be incredibly practical and comes from personal experience. You can’t give what you don’t have.

The Next Step

For me, the next step is already very clear…

I want to live a balanced and super productive life so it makes sense for me to do 3-10 times what I’m doing now.

- Create 3 more big brands in Internet marketing for 2012
- Buy more properties
- Travel the world to attend and learn from the best
- Improve my fitness level
- Become an Enneagram trainer and coach
- Spend more time with my family
- Expand cell groups and become a teacher in church
- Enjoy more fun hobbies
- Spend more time hanging out with all my positive friends
- Live every single day with passion and energy!
