More To Life Than Just Internet Marketing
I regret to say that I haven’t been updating this blog with much super good quality content as I originally intended this blog to be.
I guess I’ve gotten lazy. (Part of it was due to my Windows Live Writer not working… damn!)
My mindset on Internet marketing was hell bent onĀ automation. I’ve outsourced everything I can think off to the point that I do not have to worry about my cash flow for the next 6 months, but now I’m itching to get my hands dirty again.
The comfort zone of having to not do anything is a dangerous zone so it’s time to fight back!
But I’ve also realized something else… there’s more to life than just Internet marketing or making money.
3 things affected me and it caused me to re-think my direction in life:
- Watching a friend face a ‘mental breakdown’ and getting him back on his feet
- The death of 2 young individuals in a car accident (who also happens to be my wife’s business partner’s neighbor)
- Also, the death of a fellow Internet marketer…
Last week, I saw a forum post on an Internet marketer who just passed away. Although I didn’t know him personally, one striking thing hit me like the fastest, hardest part of the swing on a pendulum.
A lot of people said that this marketer was a nice guy, a good business partner, a great customer etc…
But that was all.
And I was like… WTH?
Don’t get me wrong… it is important to post stuff that says nice things about the deceased, but imagine if all you can say about him is that:
- He was a good ad swap partner
- Some of the great product launches we were doing together…
- How many affiliate sales did he bring me for my last fire sale…
Is that all you can sum up about that guy?
Touch wood… I expect to live a long and healthy life!
But should that inevitable day come for me… heck, I don’t want to be remembered just for my:
- Books I’ve written
- Knowledge on niche markets
- 5 figure launches I’ve pulled and how many sales I made…
- Copywriting skill
- How big my list was…
It’s just so empty and irrelevant to who I am! And after all that is said and done, I do not want to be remembered for my Internet marketing skill… hell NO!
Being remembered simply for those things is just so flippant and temporary and yourInternet marketing legacy will disappear when you take your last breath.
That’s when I’ve made my decision…
- I’m going to set new goals for my life and it definitely revolves more around adding value that money can’t buy
- I will be spending more time in the areas of counseling. Apparently, I didn’t choose the job, the job chose me as more and more people are coming to me for advice, not just on how to make more money, but on relationships, direction and life…
- I hope to spend more time with my family members, my wife, my parents, my brothers (I really wish I can spend more time with them as we never really grew close during our childhood), my in-laws and to stay in touch with my old friends
But most important of all, I believe that life is too short to worry about tomorrow’s money. I will spend more, buy and enjoy more stuff, and earn more money so I can buy stuff for other people!
The worst part about money is if you are a slave to it. Do not be a slave to money… learn to master it and make it your servant. Robert Kiyosaki said, “Don’t tell yourself that you can’t afford it, ask yourself… how can I afford it” and your brain will get to work… because life is too short anyway.
It’s time to dream bigger again ![]()

Very true Khai..
Our life achievements are measured not by our material gains, but rather how much impact we have on those around us, during our time in this world.

I don’t mind people using some of my photos, just upload it to your own server, that’s all.
It’s the picture of my car - http://www.aboutkhai.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/dsc00946.jpg
And by the way, it’s not a ‘Proton’ car, it’s a Honda… if it was a proton, that accident would’ve killed me… lol

You’ll be remembered for one more thing.
You and your wife gave a good testimonials November last year and I joined Melvin’s bootcamp and became an Internet Marketer because of you. I’ll remember you for that. :p

Hi Summersby,
Thanks for the update. It’s good to know that my line of work inspires others like you to make money online.
P.S. I’m running my own seminars in Singapore and Penang now

It is good for us to pause and think when we find ourselves travelling constantly on the super speed highway of life. It is also good to sometimes take the kampung motorways so that we can enjoy the scenery, interact with human lives and do the stuff that matters to us.
I am happy for you Khai that you received that realisation at this age and not later….then it may be too late.
I hold on to the wise saying, “What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?”
Thanks for sharing from your heart.
