Niche Marketing Ideas - Part 1

The Pros And Cons Of Niche Marketing

If you find yourself struggling in the Internet marketing niche, then you are not the only one.

I would be the first to admit that I too am not making 100% of my online profits from the ‘make money online’ niche or by marketing to other marketers.

Here’s my take:

There are other groups of marketers out there who claim that the money is not in the ‘I-M’ niche, but it is located in niches that are not related to marketing to other marketers at all.

In fact, they claim that niche marketing is probably the holy grail to online riches.

Yes, they believe that the I-M niche is too congested and that there is a bigger market out there in niches that target the end user.

Well, you may or may not agree with me, but it is without a doubt that marketers out there who forgo the fame and glamour of the I-M niche, are secretly or quietly making a fortune from all sorts of niche markets under the radar.

Here are a few pros and cons of going into niche marketing:

——–
PROS
——–

(1) The market is wider - in other words, if you compare the ‘make money online’ niche against all the rest of the other niches out there such as cars, mlm, dog training, clothes and many others, you get an idea how large the market it out there.

(2) There is less competition. Most newbies at Internet marketing start out as an Internet marketer. They join the I-M niche most probably because others tell them to get started there or because it is the logical school to start learning.

(3) Search Engine Rules! What is the first thing an Internet user does when he is looking for something? They Google it, of course! Not only is Google one of the most trusted place people go to to find something, the traffic is highly targeted resulting in a higher chance to get sales!

CONS
———

(1) Lack of branding: Sure you can make heaps of Google AdSense revenue from building a 100 niche sites, but most of the time, people don’t know who you are thanks to the business model.

(2) Harder to become famous: The I-M niche is more visible (partly because of the competition) and the launches that are going around. Unless you can create a business out of your niche market, it is harder to become famous online.

(3) You are working for Google. Google is the bread and butter for many marketers out there so unless you have lots and lots of niche sites, putting all your eggs in one basket is risky when Google changes their algorithm.

At the end of the day, you have to discover your passion to see what market you can really excel in.

I believe that every single marketer out there should dabble in some niche sites. The money is too good to be left on the table.
