Why you must always have your own products
Many people struggle with product creation when it comes to Internet marketing…
After all, why must we slog so hard when it comes to making money online? Just slap on a few Adsense codes or pump your sites and mailing lists filled with affiliate links.
People think it’s so much easier because they don’t have to deal with the customer directly and worry about support issues.
However, there will always be diminishing returns.
It’s a long term problem because you won’t fully get all that you deserve.
It takes the same amount of time to market a blog, an affiliate link or even a site that will get people to click on an Adsense code as it does when marketing your own product.
Since you are going to market something, why don’t you take 100%?
But there’s more… if you take 100%, you will most likely build a good customer list at the same time.
A marketer friend of mine told me that he makes more sales from a customer list of 3,000 compared to his free list of 40,000! How’s that for analyzing numbers?
It doesn’t end here as well… There’s always gonna be repeat sales as well.
When you sell a good product to a customer, you will get money, no doubt… but they will be more inclined to buy from you again and again!
It takes much longer to sell a product to a cold prospect compared to an old customer.
Affiliate marketing or AdSense makes you GIVE your customer away to a savvy marketer and you’ll only make an affiliate commission ONE TIME.
It’s like giving away your golden goose for 2 golden eggs in a day.
You be the judge which is a better product model.

Thank you Khai, for sharing these numbers about the customer list, versus the free list. I always hear or read of how you can make fortunes in affiliate marketing, or Adsense, yet I only make small amounts with affiliate sales, and so far, my Adsense is not enough to get my first payment. I’ve always made more with the digital products I’ve sold directly, and wondered if I just hadn’t discovered the right secrets yet about Adsense or affiliate sales. Your post helps keep things in perspective for me.

Hello Khai, great post! You’re right, you can make more money with your own products. However, starting out as an affiliate is a good way to get your start in the INET MKTNG BIZ. Starting out as an affiliate is a good way to get pre-made sales tools for your marketing and sales efforts. One stategy as an affiliate can be to have your own affiliate squeeze page upstream of the affiliate’s sales page, thus building your list. The opt-inder…may end up on two list…but, hey, I am on 20 some-odd list. How about that as a blog post: “being on more than one list”.

Thanks Khai, you know PLR products are a quick and easy way to accquire your own products. The least you can do with a PLR product is simply put your name on it as the owner, post up your website and head over to start driving traffic to it. Ofcourse the best way is to personalize the PLR product with your own unique style in the writing and graphics.
WOW! Khai, you inspire us all…think I’ll work on a PLR product tonight.

Hello Khai…a person just has to get started…there is so much info and products to choose from a person could suffer from “analysis paralysis”.
Then, if that happens…nothing gets done. So hopefully, after consideration of all options, a person could choose a business model, ie.
creating the product, using affiliate marketing to get a product or even a PLR product and simply get started in the internet marketing business!!!

I try to make just enough for fresh product the day of my spa relaxation time myself. I do however have my scrubs that I keep on the side of my tub all the time so I can use them when ever I need them. I just keep them in an air tight container & that works very well.

I really want to make some extra money working from home and am interested in learning Internet marketing. I currently stay at home with my two little kids but would be able to devote about 25 hours a week to Internet marketing. It’s just that I don’t know where to start.
